Maquiladoras: Factories in Mexico whose companies are located in different countries, and export products to their own country.
Campensinos: Peasant farmers.
Border Industrialization Program: A Mexican government program that was formed to solve unemployment along the border.
IRCA: An American Act that saves jobs for legal immigrants.
Field Workers
Migrant field workers in the 1930's had to perform back-breaking work, and got paid very little.
Racism Against Mexicans
Mexicans during the 1930's encountered racism by being payed lower, being blamed for taking jobs, and got sent back to Mexico sometimes.
