Where is UQ?
Accommodation
There are ten colleges on campus at UQ St Lucia, and one at UQ Gatton
You can live in off-campus student housing, off-campus rental housing or on-campus.
As well as bedrooms, colleges provide meals, laundry facilities, common social and recreation rooms and internet. You should organise college accommodation before you arrive as spaces are limited.
Off-campus student housing means you live in a student community but have the freedom of catering for yourself. You can arrange this type of housing with the provider before you arrive.
Off-campus rental housing is the most common type of student housing. As well as being cheap it's a great way to make friends. You usually share with one or more people and arrange it after arrival.



Accommodation services arrange airport pick up for new UQ students too, so you don't have to worry about finding your way around.

DISCOVERY

The Business, Economics, Law and Tourism Internship Program brings together students and employers offering degree related work experience opportunities. Internships offered through this program are not necessarily assessed for academic credit, rather are undertaken alongside and around students’ study commitments. The program is coordinated by Employment Services who provide advice and extensive support to both students and employers to ensure a positive experience all parties. Placements are offered throughout the year – during both vacation periods semester time.

You can study in Australia for one or two semesters, and get credit towards your degree!
If your university has an agreement with UQ you can come here on an incoming exchange.
If not, you can enrol as a Study Abroad student.
Outgoing exchanges are also available to UQ enrolled full degree students through the UQ Abroad office.

International Student Application for Study Abroad or Incoming Exchange Program

Attach all required documentation
Submit your application
4.
We will assess your application and, if you are eligible, we will send you an offer by email, as well as information about what to do next (such as finding accommodation online, commencing your studies at UQ, and living in Brisbane)
5. Accept your offer
Return the completed Acceptance form, Streamline Visa Processing (SVP) declaration, and payment (if applicable) - along with any documents we might have requested to satisfy conditions
6.
Confirm enrolment
Once we receive your Acceptance form, SVP declaration and payment, and provided that you have met all conditions required, we will issue you with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) via email, as well as information on what to do next (including how to organise airport reception and temporary accommodation)
Get an international student visa
7.
Use your CoE to apply for a student visa via an Embassy, High Commission or DIAC, and make travel arrangements
Prepare for departure
8.
Book airport reception and accommodation at

You can take the bus, train, or city cat around Brisbane, Gatton and Ipswich
There is an intercampus bus between St Lucia and Gatton, and St Lucia and Ipswich.
UQ St Lucia has both a ferry and bus stop. Gatton and Ipswich have a train and bus stop. Herston has a bus stop.

Our Summer Research program allows you to gain research experience with some of our top researchers and academics
It's available in most disciplines over the 10 week period from mid-November to February
(Summer Semester)
Masters by coursework and undergraduate students, including honours (with one year of study) from any university can apply
All students receive a weekly AUD$300 stipend for the duration of their research (6-10 weeks

Non UQ enrolled students who are not within 100km of the research site may apply for a one off AUD$1000 payment to subsidise travel
