Hello My name is Leah The Digestive system The cheeseburger first goes into
the mouth where the teeth then
chews it up. This is a form of
mechanical digestion. The saliva also uses chemical digestion to break up the food into smaller pieces so it is easier to swallow The path of a cheeseburger in the Digestive System Then the cheeseburger ends up in the esophagus.
To get the food to go down, this tube contracts. Here in the stomach the cheeseburger
is broken down even more. The stomach
squeezes together to break the food apart while the stomach acid is breaking it down too. From there it goes into the small intestine
where nutrients are absorbed into the blood
stream by villi, which are like little fingers that
line it's walls. Also here, bile is squirted from the
gallbladder into the small intestine to help further
break down the food.
Almost done now. The cheeseburger
is in the large intestine. This is where
water is sucked out of waste and held
here until until it can be exited from the body. Finally the cheeseburger exits out of
the rectum. This is the end of the
proses of the digestive system. The End
