Coldtowns: a place where quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey.
It starts with a party...
In the OASIS, a realistic virtual multi-verse, most human interaction takes place via goggles and gloves in millions of unique worlds .
Most people prefer the OASIS to their grim, poverty-stricken reality.
Wade Watts in real life, and “Parzival” to his best friends and mortal enemies all of whom he interacts with virtually, is on a quest within the OASIS.
Somewhere hidden in the OASIS is a fortune – a treasure that will change Wade’s life.
If he can get to it first.
My birth name is Elizabeth, but I’m a guy.
My parents think I’ve gone crazy and the rest of the world is happy to agree with them, but I know I’m right. I’ve been a boy my whole life.
When you think about it, I’m like a record. Elizabeth is my A side, the song everybody knows, and Gabe is my B side—not heard as often, but just as good.
It’s time to let my B side play.
Camp 14: a North Korean political prison/labor camp.
No one is ever released.
Torture, starvation, and execution are commonplace in Camp 14.
Shin Dong-Hyuk was born in Camp 14.
In 2005 Shin Dong-Hyuk was the first person ever to escape.
This is his story.
Joey Crouch has lost everything--his mother, his friends, his home.
Joey is sent to rural Iowa to live with the father he has never known, a strange, solitary man with unimaginable secrets.
And to choose whether or not he’ll join the family business –
Seventeen-year-old Ismae is brought to a mysterious convent where she will escape her life of poverty and abuse to be trained as an assassin.
Unfortunately for Ismae, one of the people she is sent to spy on (and possibly assassinate) is the first man she feels she might love.
Every morning A wakes up in a different body and a different life.
There’s never any warning about where it will be or who it will be.
A has made peace with that, even established guidelines by which to live:
Never get too attached.
Avoid being noticed.
Do not interfere.
It’s all fine until the morning that A meets Rhiannon.
A has found someone he wants to be with—day in, day out, day after day.
Can you truly love someone regardless of what they look like on the outside?
Intergalactic Menace. Destroyer of Worlds. Conqueror of Other Worlds. Mad Genius. Ex-Warlord of Earth.
Not bad for a guy without a spine.
But what's a villain to do after he's done everything?
Retirement isn't easy though. If the boredom doesn't get him, there's always the Venusians. Or the Saturnites. Or the Mercurials.
Or . . .
well, you get the idea.
If that wasn't bad enough, there's also the assassins of a legendary death cult and an up-and-coming megalomaniac (as brilliant as he is bodiless) who have marked Emperor for their own nefarious purposes.
But Mollusk isn't about to let the Earth slip out of his own tentacles and into the less capable clutches of another. So it's time to dust off the old death ray and come out of retirement.
Except this time, he's not out to rule the world. He's out to save it from the peril of THE SINISTER BRAIN!
It was supposed to be the weekend of their lives.
Best friends Meg and Minnie are looking forward to two days of boys and fun-filled luxury.
But what starts out as fun turns twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a sinister message:
Vengeance is mine.
With a storm raging outside, the teens are cut off from the outside world . . . so when a mysterious killer begins picking them off one by one, there’s no escape.
As the deaths become more violent and the teens turn on one another, can Meg find the killer before more people die?
Or is the killer closer to her than she could ever imagine?
In 1925, earthquakes and a rising sea level left Lower Manhattan submerged under more than thirty feet of water, creating The Drowning City.
Fifty years later….
Felix Orlov, known once upon a time as “Orlov the Conjuror”, is now an old man, a psychic medium, contacting the spirits of the departed for the grieving loved ones left behind.
When a séance goes horribly wrong, Felix Orlov is abducted by strange men wearing gas masks and rubber suits, and his 14 year old employee, Molly, soon finds herself on the run.
Molly’s flight will lead her into the company of a mysterious man, and his stalwart sidekick, Joe Golem, whose own past is a mystery to him, but who walks his own dreams as a man of stone and clay, brought to life for the sole purpose of hunting witches.
Grades, sports, and girls have always come easy to me
,” muses Tom Bouchard, captain of the high-school soccer team in a small town in Maine.
Somali immigrants have arrived in Tom’s small town.
Among the immigrants is Saeed, a phenomenally talented soccer player.
Tom and Saeed become friends, but not everyone welcomes the Somali immigrants.
One ill-conceived gesture of sympathy puts Saeed’s future in jeopardy.
When a white supremacist group announces its intention to come to the “aid” of the white population in this small town fence-sitting is no longer an option, not only for Tom but for the entire community.
Everyone has to pick a side and the differences could splinter this tight-knit little town irrevocably.

1986, two star-crossed misfits—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.
- 17-year-old Verity Boone expects a warm homecoming when she returns to Catawissa, Pennsylvania, pledged to marry a man she has never met.
Instead, she finds a father she barely knows and a future husband with whom she apparently has nothing in common.
One truly horrifying surprise awaits her:
The graves of her mother and aunt are enclosed in iron cages outside the local cemetery.
Nobody in town will explain why, but Verity hears rumors of buried treasure and witchcraft.
Perhaps the cages were built to keep grave robbers out . . .
or to keep the women in.
Boy, did Blink get off on the wrong floor.
All he wanted was to steal some breakfast for his empty belly, but instead he stumbled upon a fake kidnapping and a cell phone dropped by an "abducted" CEO.
Now Blink is on the run, but it’s OK as long as he’s smart enough to stay in the game and keep Captain Panic locked in his hold.
Enter a girl named Caution.

She’s also on the run, from a skeezy drug-dealer boyfriend and from a nightmare in her past that won’t let her go.
When she spies Blink at the train station, Caution can see he’s an easy mark. But there’s something about this naïve, skinny street punk, whom she only wanted to rob, that tugs at her heart, a heart she thought deserved not to feel.
It will take all of their cunning and street smarts to make it out alive.
The aliens are coming for us in waves.
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains.
After the 2nd, only the lucky escape.
