What are the system requirements?

You need a minimum of 2GB of RAM. Installation for Prezi Classic Desktop is around 650 MB but can vary by 1-2 MB from one release to the next.

Can I work offline in Prezi Classic Desktop?

Yes. You can edit a prezi offline, and when you go back online, your prezis will sync to Prezi.com. If you work offline, your prezi will sync with the online version once you reconnect to the Internet. You’ll be given two options:

  • save the prezi as a separate copy or
  • discard the changes.

If you choose to save the work you’ve done offline as a separate copy, rest assured your work is saved. You can then later continue to edit your own version or the online version. On the other hand, if you discard your work, you’ll automatically continue with the online, synced version of the prezi the next time you start working.

Can I keep my prezis out of the cloud?

Yes. Prezi Classics stored locally are never synced online, which means they are not stored in the cloud and they remain on your computer. To learn more about this, click here for Windows and here for Mac.

How can I get the most updated version of Prezi Classic Desktop?

Prezi Classic Desktop will automatically look for updates, but this can also be triggered manually.

In Windows: Click the cogwheel in the left sidebar and select Check for updates. If an update is found, just follow the directions to update the application. Here you can also see what version of Prezi Classic Desktop for Windows you currently have.

Why can’t I install Prezi Classic Desktop?

Please make sure you have enough disk space.

Why is my application freezing?

If you have a lot of tabs, windows, or programs running, they might be using too much memory. Please make sure you don’t have too many large media files such as images, video, and sound files. The optimal resolution for images in Prezi Classic is 1280x1024 pixels at 72 dpi.

What can I do if I have syncing issues?

Issues in uploading to prezi.com from Prezi Classic Desktop can be caused by a connection problem or by an unsupported or corrupted file. To check this, please try creating a new prezi from a template, with no other content.

If you are not able to upload this new prezi, please check out our article about Firewalls and Security settings.

If the new prezi uploads successfully, then you may have a file that is too big, unsupported, or corrupt. In this case, please make sure your files are at the lowest possible resolution. The optimal resolution for images in Prezi Classic is 1280x1024 pixels at 72 dpi.
