Nuclear Energy is produced by
uranium atoms (nuclear fission) causing energy to be released. Another way to release energy is by
uranium atoms (nuclear fusion). Then the released energy is used to generate heat for making steam, which is used by a turbine to generate electricity.
Nuclear waste can be recycled

Nuclear waste can be recycled by three different levels:
1. exempt waste/Very low level
2. intermediate level waste
3. high level waste
amount of radioactive wastes is very small relative to wastes

Used nuclear fuel may be used as a resource
Nuclear wastes are neither particularly hazardous nor hard to
manage relative to other toxic industrial wastes.
Safe ways for the final disposal of high-level radioactive waste
are technically proven
Can be expensive to reduce the possibilities of problems with the radiation system
Has some unknown risks and high known risks too.

How is nuclear energy efficient?
Almost a third of the world's energy demands are met through nuclear power plants. The potential environmental hazards posed are minimal when compared with other major energy sources, like fossil fuels. The electricity produced by nuclear energy, if it is produced using coal, would release nearly 147 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. With nuclear energy, waste production is smaller and contained. The total volume of nuclear waste produced since the nuclear power industry began is only enough to fill a football field to a depth of about 15 yards. This is easily managed and held on site safely out of environmental or public contact.
