Game of Thrones - american fantasy series created by David Benioff and DB Weiss for HBO, an adaptation of the saga Song of Ice and Fire by American author George RR Martin.
Most of the major themes of history set in the Seven Kingdoms, the country occupying a very large part of a longitudinal continent of Westeros. It stretches from the sun in the south of Dorne until after housed on distant and cold midnight Wall, and located behind the country inhabited by wild tribes and other unfriendly creatures.

For several years, when after the rebellion of Robert Baratheon Aerys II Targaryen ("Mad King") was overthrown, in the Seven Kingdoms at peace. Suddenly, however, the royal governor dies - Jon Arryn. Robert wielding state heads north, to appoint his new governor a friend of his youth and most faithful ally from the days of rebellion against Aerysowi, Eddard "Ned" Stark.

The plot of the first season of the series shows mainly just the fate of Ned Stark, Lord who speaks so. North of the fortress Winterfell, and his family; Catelyn, his wife of the family Tully, and their children: Robb, the eldest son and the rightful heir to Winterfell; Sansa, the comely daughter, dreaming of becoming a great lady; Arya, often forgetting the noble origins to the playground with below-born friends; Bran, climbing enthusiast who wants to become a great knight; and the youngest of the siblings Rickon; as well as Jon Snow, bastard son of Eddard.
While returning from the execution of either one of the brothers of the Night's Watch, Jon finds for himself and his siblings wilkors - the creation of more than wolves previously considered no longer exists, which will assist them.

Jon joins the Night's Watch, an ancient brotherhood guarding the great wall separating the Seven Kingdoms from the mysterious land of eternal winter. Bran unintentionally, when one climbs the walls of the castle, he discovers in one of the towers indulging in sexual intercourse Cersei Lannister, the wife of the king, and her brother, Jaime, who killed Aerys was nicknamed "Kingslayer". This incestuous union was born three children. Jaime pushes Bran from the tower, the boy escapes death, but losing in a fall, his legs.

Ned, despite the doubts, faithful to Robert and returns with him to King's Landing, taking Sansa and Arya. In the capital waiting for them many dangers, and the biggest threat appears to be willing to grab power for himself among the Lannisters.

At the same time a narrow sea, the continent Essos, two exiles - Viserys Targaryen and his sister Daenerys, the youngest children Aerys, plan to return to Westeros and the re-acquisition governments. The game begins on the throne.
