Clown fish live in sea anemone
which is shown in the image
sea anemone is usually found at the
ocean floor. They are found
in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean
,The Red Sea, The Indian Ocean and
Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
Clown fish are called clown fish because of the markings of colors. Orange and White. They are clown colors. This also tells a warning.( other marine creatures to stay away).
(Do not now why clown fish are called Amphiprioninae)
Method of feeding & what it eats
Clown fish get their food from inside the sea anemone by eating the algae on it. They do not get stung by the sea anemone tentacles because they have a special kind of goo known as mucus on their skin that keeps them from feeling the sting. Clown fish also eat any dead tentacles keeping the anemone and the area around it clean.
Method of movement
Clown fish use there side fins to help them steer. They use the back fin to help them move around as shown
on this video
Life stage of an clown fish
The clown fish starts as a egg which is laid on a coral, rock or even near the anemone they live in
Larva fish live off a yolk sac attached to their bodies
Fry are young clown fish that are ready to start eating on their own
Then their are adults
Warm or cold blooded?
Clown fish are cold blooded. So if you try
putting them in warm water they will die since
they cant adapt to the temperature
Predators &/or threats to the
The enemies of the clown fish are sharks, sting rays, blow fish and puffer fish. However, their biggest enemy now is people who saw the movie, Finding Nemo and want clown fish for their aquariums because they think clown fish are super cool.
of a skeleton
Clown fish are small they only have 20 bones.
Clown fish are not that heavy they are in fact light when they move
1 unique behavior clown fish have is that they can go through Sea anemone and they wont get stung. Clown fish have a thick layer of mucus to protect the fish from the anemones stinging cells. Sea Anemones are predators that attach themselves to rocks or coral. They sit and wait until a fish swims close enough to attack with its tentacles. When a fish swims by the anemone, its tentacles will shoot out a long poisonous thread. The toxins in this thread paralyze the prey. Clown fish are one of the only species that can survive the deadly sting of the Sea Anemone.
One of the close relatives clown fish have are the Pink Anemone fish and some of the similarities are the pink anemone fish lives in a
sea anemone so do clown fish also they use the same method of movement they use their fins to steer and there tail to move

3 Adaptions that help it to survive &
Sea anemone is 1 adaption that helps a clown fish survive and thrive, it helps it by, protecting the clown fish from predators.
Another adaption would be, the clown fishes camouflaging (powers), it can camouflage with the sea anemone.
One more adaption would be, the clown fishes have rounded fins that are called caudal fins these fins make the clown fish move slower however these fins make the clown fish have quick movements
