Ozone layer = ozone at high concentrations.
Absorbs UV rays.
Ozone depletion = “…the wearing out (reduction) of the amount of ozone in the stratosphere.” ( eSchoolToday)
HCFC = Hydrochlorofluorocarbon
CFC= Chlorofluorocarbons.
Chlorine atoms destroy the ozone.
Bromine + chlorine
Ozone depleting substances (ODS)
Why are these a problem today?
Stable
Human and eco-friendly at ground level
What are we doing to damage the ozone layer?
Combustion of gasoline
Deforestation
Rockets/jets in atmosphere
The Montreal Protocol
Replace CFC and HCFC with HCF
Ban CFC and HCFC
Reduce any other ODS

After researching about the ozone layer and the damage being caused to it, we have found a solution that promises to be essential for it’s regeneration.

The Montreal Protocol, as mentioned before, is a treaty with the aim to regulate the production of the ODS - ever since this treaty has been at work, it has proven to be effective; the ozone layer is showing signs of recovery, and meanwhile the Montreal Protocol continues to improve our world.
