Origin:
Interesting Fact:
The word, "Assassin," originated from the word, "Hashish." Hashish was a drug that the sect of Muslims would use on their followers to make them think they were in heaven. They'd have no control over their mind and would be sent to kill enemies.
Hassan-i Sabbah
Hash
SECURED JERUSALEM IN THE FIRST CRUSADE
LOCATION OF THE BEGINNING MISSIONS IN THE GAME
Notice, a lot of the same designs and structures were programmed into the game for realism and accuracy
TEMPLARS USED THE RED CROSS ON WHITE MANTLES AS A SIGN OF LOYALTY TO THE HOLY LAND
Weapons:
Hidden Blade:
Blades were good weapons to conceal kills
Unfortunately, a retractable blade that was latent and constructed under the user's wrist, did not exist.
Guns:
-Guns seem powerful but don't give the user any accuracy
-Guns attract attention
-They were not actually used
Objectives:
-Assassin's believed that equality would lead towards peace
-They wanted to end the political rain of tyranny that the Knight's Templars enforced
-Templars fought under Salah al-Din Yusuf Ibn Ayyub, the Sultan of Eqypt and Syria
-They think giving citizens the choice will lead to outbreaks and disaster
Interesting Fact:
-Saladin (Short Term) was sleeping in his tent, assassin placed a note and a dagger in his belt
-The assassin's name was Umar Ibn-La'Ahad
-Name was even brought to the protagonist of the game: Altair Ibn-La'Ahad.
Salah al-Din was referenced directly in the game used as an example of power and rank.
Both existed in the late 1100's
Assassin's originated in the First Crusade. The foundation of the Assassin's was developed in Syria and Alamut (what is now Iraq)
Assassin's headquarters was established in Masyaf by Hassan-i Sabbah, a Persian devotee for Muslim's
The Masyaf Castle design is mostly fictional
History behind it is accurate
Throwing Knives:
-Throwing knives are inconspicuous, but have little accuracy, ruining the illusive approach
