Book Report The Maze Runner Text to Text Connection In the book, The Maze Runner, I can make a text to text connection. The text to text connection I can make is that book, The Maze Runner, is a lot like the book The Hunger Games. I think that the book is like The Hunger Games because in both the book the main point is for the kids to survive. Text to Self Connection One connection I can make is that Thomas, Main Character in The Maze Runner, had to adapt to his environment, which I had to do several times. I went to three different elementary schools, and had to make new friends every time and adapt to the schooling environment. Text to World Connection In the book The Maze Runner the world has a connection with it. This is because in life you have to fight to survive. Life is like getting lost in a maze because you have to find ways to stay alive. The Author of The Maze Runner James Dashner Summary of The Maze Runner Thomas wakes up in a metal box with no memory of who he is. He only remembers his name. Doors open overhead revealing a community of young boys all living on a type of farm surrounded by very high walls. The place is called the Glade. Outside the Glade, beyond the walls is a massive Maze populated with monsters, known as Grievers. Thomas learns that in the Maze outside are monsters known as Grievers. If a Griever stings you, you will go through a process known as the Changing, which is quite traumatic. Thomas meets the leader of the Glade, Alby, and his second in command, Newt. There is also Chuck who becomes his friend. Gally emerges as a rival who is suspicious of Thomas. Minho is the leader of the Runners, the Gladers who go out into the Maze in an attempt to map it and find a way out. The Maze Runner The Maze Runner
