Transcript of ''Snowy Mountains''
The environment in the snowy mountains is very cold and has a lot of snow. It can be wet when there is rain during winter. It is a mountain environment. There are a lot of mountains in this ecosystem.
The Snowy Mountains is home to many animal and plant species in the area. Some of the animals that live there are wallabies, quolls, squirrels, platypuses and wombats. Most of the plants species that live in the snowy mountains depend on the rainfall of the environment.
There are many animals that are native to the snowy mountains. These animals include the platypus, dingo, rabbits, kangaroos and wallabies.
Rabbits in the snowy mountains, are mainly herbivores. They depend on the sunlight and rain to make the beautiful flora of the snowy mountains grow.
The Dingo is one of the main and most populated species of predator in the snowy mountains. It eats rabbits, wombats and other small mammals.
There are a lot of platypuses around the snowy mountains. It feeds on tadpoles, water bugs, beetles, shrimps and snails. It lives in the waters of the snowy mountains.
Many wombats live in the snowy mountain. They also live in the grasslands of the snowy mountain during the warmer seasons like summer and spring.
Many corroboree frogs live in the snowy mountains. Their diet are beetles, mites, ants and insect larave.
There are many different kinds of flora species in the snowy mountains ecosystem. The flora depends on the rainfall and sunlight to help make them grow.
Eucalyptus pauciflora (snow gum) are small trees or large shrub that is 13-26 ft. They contain eucalyptus leaves that animals like Koalas feed on.
Perennial plants are plants that live for more than only two years. They grow and bloom in spring and summer and usually die in autumn and winter.
Wildflower plants are plants that grow in the wild. This means that it wasn't intentionally planted or seeded. A lot of squirrels in the snowy mountains feed on wildflowers.

Consequences of having insufficient amounts of water
If the snowy mountains have insufficient amount of water, the snow will eventually go away and the biome will be very dry and cold. There are little ponds of water at the bottom of mountains where most animals drink and if that water is gone, they will struggle to survive in this cold biome. If there is no rainfall, then the plants and animals will die of thirst. That is why this ecosystem needs water.
