Consequences of having insufficient amounts of water
If the snowy mountains have insufficient amount of water, the snow will eventually go away and the biome will be very dry and cold. There are little ponds of water at the bottom of mountains where most animals drink and if that water is gone, they will struggle to survive in this cold biome. If there is no rainfall, then the plants and animals will die of thirst. That is why this ecosystem needs water.
