The Hero's Journey : Narnia the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
Road of Trials.
The heroes have many trials throughout their journey, but 3 notable ones could ,when our heroes are pursued by wolves, when they are in the Witches palace. For the first one, our heroes must escape the dire wolves that the Witch sends to find them. After that they met difficult odds when they have to rescue their brother. He sneaked away to find the Witch and ended up becoming her prisoner. As they try to save the young brother they also had a belly of the whale experience when they were inside her castle.. And lastly there biggest trial is when they have the dragon battle. Here they must fight the Witch and her army directly.
Call to Action
Tumnus called the heroes to action, by informing Lucy of the Witches' intent and wrong doing, so that when the heroes return he is kidnapped and they need to rescue him and the rest of Narnia while staying alive. Although they had many mentor, their main one would be Aslan, but he gives them no gifts yet Santa does.
Master of two Worlds
When the Heroes return form Narnia their uncle recognies them as the master of both worlds, and before they return they get recognition form Aslan and the other creatures of Narnia.
The Way out
Crossing the Threshold.
The heroes cross the Threshold when the step through the wardrobe and into Narnia.
In the vast world of Narnia there are multiple Archetypes, and 9 examples are:
The Mentor
In this movie Aslan is the mentor of all 4 kids. He continues to help and train the heroes through their journey making him a clear mentor. Mentor is the one who teaches the hero and sometimes give him or her a gift
The Hero
There are four main heroes in the movie. Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are all heroes for the legend involves all of them and together they save Narnia. The hero is the protagonist that is meant to defeat the villain.
Edmund is a shadow in in Narnia the lion the witch and the wardrobe. He when first entering Narnia became allies with the witch, and until much later in the movie planed to be in alliance with her to become prince and eventually king. A shadow can be the villain or evil figure, but it also can be one with dark intent, such as edmund was at first.
Tumnus is the Herald, because he gives the call of action to Lucy. Heralds are the ones that give the call to action to the hero and can also be an event.
Mr. Beaver is an allie to the heroes for he helps out all four heroes by telling them of the legend and helping them get to Aslan. Allies are those that help the hero.
The villain is the witch for she tries to kill the heroes and Aslan. Villains are the main antagonist in and who the hero must defeat.
Threshold guardian
The threshold guardian is a thing person or thought that stops the hero or heroes form passing through the threshold. In the movie the thresh hold is guardian by the thoughts of the heroes not believe the wardrobe could take them to another world.
Friendly Beast.
A friendly beast is a creature that is helpful to the hero and can normally speak. There are many of them in Narnia and one great example is Mrs. Beaver. She helps the heroes alongside Mr. Beaver and speaks.
The Trickster tries to trick the other in the movie, but can be helpful or harmful to the hero while maybe being neither. In the movie there were many tricks that were done, but a notable trickster must be Aslan. When he negotiated his life for Edmunds, he tricked the Witch into thinking he would die, but came back to life the day after.
