HIP HOP DANCE
HISTORY OF HIP HOP DANCE
FEATURES OF STYLE
The main feature of hip hop is free styling. Hip Hop dance incorporates several dance moves techniques but the three main techniques are locking, breaking and waving.
SPECIFIC PROPS OR COSTUMES USED
Hip hop dancers usually wear an outfit that creates an original and stylish image and provides comfort. They usually like wearing baggy pants and long tees. A pair of good quality sneakers may create additional comfort and help hip hop dancers concentrate on performing their impressive movements.
WHO, WHERE AND WHEN
Back in the 20th century break dancing, locking and waving all formed into one style of dance named HIP HOP. As more Hip Hop techniques and moves developed more moves were incorporated into the dance style. Hip Hop still continues to maintain its presence even today.
REQUEST DANCE CREW
Request Dance Crew was formed in 2007.

Between the year 1990 and 2000 Hip Hop grew a strong presence in the urban chain which led to the creations of Memphis Jookin, Turfing, Jerkin' and Krumping.
