The Games Logo

There are many reasons why Rio was chosen for the Olympics, but we think that the main one was because it is a very animated and vibrant city with breath taking scenery. It also has incredible sporting facilities and there is a great avocation towards it. It is the first time that South America holds an Olympics.
The heart of the games is going to take place in Barra da Tijuca, however most of the outdoor games will take place in Copacabana Beach.
Where will it take place and why was it chosen?
Rio is working on accommodation and transport because it has to cope with the massive demands from tourism for the event. The theme is "Live your passion" and old buildings with graffiti and shattered windows are being renovated. Numerous restaurants and stores are being built. The whole city is being prepared for this awaited event.
What is Rio doing to prepare for the Olympics?
There will be lots of tourism which will give a positive economic outcome.
People from all over the world will be united to watch the games.
There is lots of stress in the process of preparation and there is a risk that there won't be any time left to finish.

Barra da Tijuca is a famous borough in Rio de Janeiro, located southwest of the city on the Atlantic Ocean. Barra is well known for its beaches, its uncountable lakes and rivers, and its highly Americanized lifestyle.
Copacabana is located in the Zona Sul (southern zone) of the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is known for its 4 km balneario beach, which is one of the most famous in the world.
The Estádio do Maracanã is an open-air stadium in Rio de Janeiro. It was opened in 1950.
Deodoro is a neighbourhood of the Western Zone of Rio de Janeiro. This is the main place where most of sport festivals for young people take place.
The Rio 2016 logo was designed by
a Brazilian company called Tatíl Design.
The logo represents three figures, in the yellow, green and blue of the Brazilian flag, joined at the arms and in a triple embrace, with the overall shape reflecting that of Sugarloaf Mountain.
Three people colored as Green, Blue and Orange in the logo present a stylized version of the circles of Olympic Games Logo which represent the people of different continents participating in the Olympic Games.
Holding Hands in Hands:
This symbolizes unity among different nations of the world brought through sports which is one of the slogans of Olympic Game.
All the three people are shown to be dancing which portrays the fun and enthusiasm of Carioca (Rio de Janeiro’s citizens) and Brazilians for sports.
Four Pillars of the Logo:
It has been announced that the logo design is based on four pillars namely Contagious Energy, Harmonious Diversity, Exuberant Nature and Olympic Spirit.
