Song of Maria Clara Ang Awit ni Maria Clara Canto De Maria Clara

Jose Rizal wrote" the song of maria clara" it is found in Noli Me Tangere and it was sung by the character named Maria Clara. Jose Rizal wrote this during the time of the Spanish occupation in the Philippines. 1.Who wrote this poem? 2. Who is the intended audience? The intended audience are the Filipinos. He wrote it to open the eyes of the Filipinos to the reality that they were being oppressed. 3. What is the story line? In this poem by José Rizal, popularly called "Song of Maria Clara," the love for
the native land is expressed. The poem likens the experience of living in one's own country to the comforts felt from a mother's presence, noting moments spent
while on native land are invaluable. Sweet the hours in the native country, where friendly shines the sun above!
Life is the breeze that sweeps the meadows;
tranquil is death; most tender, love.

Warm kisses on the lips are playing
as we awake to mother's face:
the arms are seeking to embrace her,
the eyes are smiling as they gaze.

How sweet to die for the native country, where friendly shines the sun above!
Death is the breeze for him who has
no country, no mother, and no love! 1. Why was this poem written? The Song of Maria Clara was written to instill a sense of nationalism in the Filipinos who read it. 2. What type of poem is this? This is a poem that encourages one to love his own country, as he loves his mother. It also expresses that, like a mother, only your native country will love you and accept you for who you are. It may be considered a ballad, because it expresses such emotion through song. 3. what are the basic assumptions made in this poem? In this poem by José Rizal, popularly called "Song of Maria Clara," the love for the native land is expressed. The poem likens the experience of living in one's own country to the comforts felt from a mother's presence, noting moments spent while on native land are invaluable. 3. What does this poem means to me and to the society? the song's basic assumptions are:
-every minute of our lives as wonderful as living in our own country
-death is full of sorrow if one has no country, mother and love
-life on earth is meaningful if it is because of our country 1. Can I believe this poem? This poem is a sign of loving our own country, that life on earth is meaningful if we live because of our country, it only implies that our dear country delights every moment that we live for it. This type document which is a song, expressed something about life, love and country that someone's life is fruitful if its is given back to where life started. 2. what can i learn about the society that produced this poem? THANK YOU :) The meaning of the song of maria clara to me is love for country. Same as for the society, we must learn how to appreciate our country and we must drop the colonial mentality and treasure and support our own. the song of maria clara is a strange and sad poem, where in the last stanza reveals the premonition of what Rizal will end up to. the thing that we can learn about the society that produced this document is that we, filipinos, are the ones who should love, protect and fight for our country. we should learn to stand in our own and justify ourselves to be worthy to have it.
