Khan Academy- I can have students who are visual learners watch videos on the specific topic. This allows students to work at the level they are most comfortable at. This is also beneficial to students who need to relearn the lesson because they were absent or just did not understand the material the first time it was taught.

My Technology Philosophy

I will have my students communicate with other students using collaborative tools such as google docs.
NETS 1: Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
C. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes (ISTE.org)
"Cooperative learning is the instructional use of small groups so that students work together to maximize their own and each other's learning" (21st Century Skills, Chapter 9, p. 202).
I will have various digital tools and teaching methods to cater to all of my students' needs.
NETS 2: Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments
C. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources (ISTE.org)
"Assistive technology (AT) is any item, piece of equipment, software program, or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of persons with disabilities." " (What is AT?, http://www.atia.org/at-resources/what-is-at/)
NETS 3: Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments
D. Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning (ISTE.org)

"School systems pay for general special education learning materials as well as technology specified in an IEP" (What is AT?,http://www.atia.org/at-resources/what-is-at/) .
I will make sure all of my students understand the responsibilities they have while using the Internet.
NETS 4: Promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility
C. Promote and model digital etiquette and responsible social interactions related to the use of technology and information (ISTE.org)
"If you were king or queen for a day, what one thing would you do to enhance ethical behavior in the use of the Internet? The answer that immediately popped into my mind was: I would install a small mirror on every computer so that more people would understand that what they do on the Internet reflects upon who they are as a person." (Computer Ethics Etiquette & Safety For the 21st-Century Student, P.1).
I will make sure my students will develop the technological skills they need to succeed and become a leader.
NETS 5: Engage in professional growth and leadership
B. Exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others (ISTE.org)
"As a manager at Apple told me, any employee who needs to be managed is no longer employable. The same shift of responsibility to individuals applies to personal life. There are fewer authority figures to take care of people or tell them what to do. Today, people have to manage their own health care, arming themselves with information, making choices about coverage, acting as their own advocates, and partnering with health-care providers to manage their health" (21st Century Skills, Foreword, p. xxi).

I will ensure my students learn how to use technology to collaborate and work with others. I will make sure they understand technology is a great tool for collaboration. For example, I will create assignments that require my students to use resources like google docs to work together. These assignments will be done outside of the classroom, so they will work collaboratively using technology.
As a teacher I will utilize technology so that my students can all have equal access to success within the classroom. I will make sure I am delivering information in different forms so students can learn in the style they prefer. I will also use websites that allow students to work at their own pace and level.
When teaching, I will have my students use various types of technology to help cater to their specific needs. Assistive Technology is a great way to help all students, especially those with special needs. Students with reading disabilities can receive their books in alternate forms, so a student who has trouble reading can listen to his or her book on tape. Word prediction software is beneficial to all students because it allows the device to speed up typing, guess the next word, and corrects spelling.
When teaching my students about technology, I will make sure that they understand how to use it properly. I will ensure my students understand that technology can be used as a great tool for learning, but if abused it will be taken away. I will also make sure my students understand to only use the websites I recommend. I want my students to understand that not everything they see online is true. I will also create assignments for my students to use technology responsibly. For example, I will make my students give positive feedback to each other using technology. I will have each student write something about themselves and then have one of their peers comment back something nice and respectful.
I want all my students to learn how to be leaders. Using technology I will encourage all my students to step out of their comfort zone and emerge as leaders. Leadership is a skill that all student should have in order to be successful in the future. We live in a globalized world where leadership is necessary to be successful. Using technology, I want to teach my students to become leaders.
