When one of his wounded companions was exposed to a open fire, Austin raced across the fire swept terrain disregarding his own safety and assisted a marine to a covered location.
Oscar sacrificed his safety to assist a wounded marine in open the way of open fire.
As Austin neared the casualty he observed an enemy grenade land nearby and reacting instantly, leaped between the imjured marine and the grenade, absorbing its effect, he gave his life for his country
