Transcript of COURAGE

COURAGE Jem Atticus Boo Jem Atticus Boo Radley When he tries to break up the fight between Walter and Scout This shows courage because even though Jem knew Walter got Scout in trouble. Jem understands that beating up people isn't the right way solve conflicts "....I was rubbing his nose in the dirt Jem came by and told me to stop. ' you are bigger than he is,' he said ....... Let him go, Scout." When he shot the mad dog Jem and Scout thought their dad was a boring, old man. When Atticus is about to shoot the dog, Jem and Scout realize how brave their dad really is. As they watched Atticus shoot the dog, they realizes how much it hurts him to do this. Nevertheless, he uses his courage to help make the right choice and ends up shooting the dog. Mrs. Dubose Mrs. Dubose Boo Radley shows courage when Miss Maudies house catches on fire. Jem and Scout were standing and shivering in the cold watching everyone trying to put the fire out. Then, Boo Radley placed the blanket on top of Scout to help her stay warm. Boo had to have a lot of courage to come out of the house and do this for Scout because he is afraid of the outside world. "... Thank who? I asked "
''Boo Radley. You were busy looking at the fire, you didn't know it when he put the blanket around you." When he puts the blanket around Scout Atticus she was a morphine addict After Jem ruins all of her flowers,Ms. Dubose makes Jem come to her house and read to her everyday for an entire month. During the reading sessions she experiences attacks caused by withdrawal from the morphine. Ms. Dubose displays great courage because even though she is really old, she wants to quit her addiction before she dies and she continues to get rid of the addiction even though the great pain it causes her
