Puerto Rico A great Vacation experience Where is Puerto Rico? Puerto Rico is bordered by the Atlantic ocean to the north, and the Caribbean sea to the south. Where would you stay? There are many beachfront resorts in Puerto Rico. Many resorts have fun activities, such as surfing, snorkeling, boat trips, tours of historical places, swimming, and many other activities. Prices range from $89 a night to over $400 depending on where you stay. What can you do while in Puerto Rico? While in Puerto Rico, you can visit many museums ranging from astronomy to art and history. The museums are full of rich exhibits that demonstrates Puerto Ricos historical significance. Their are also many beaches, such as Flamenco Beach. Flamenco Beach is popular because of its almost wave less atmosphere and rich greenery. Another attraction is the El Yunque National Rainforest. The rainforest is full of exotic plants and animals that are native to the island. Bioluminescent bays are also very popular in Puerto Rico. They are bays filled withe thousands of microorganisms that glow in the dark. One of the more historical attractions include the Los Morrillos Lighthouse. The lighthouse is known for its 360 degree view, natural bridges, and reddish salt flats. Does Puerto Rico have seasons? Even though Puerto Rico has one of the most unvarying climates in the world with temperatures ranging from seventy five to eighty five degrees on most of the island. Even though their are not great temperature changes in Puerto Rico, there are other types of changes such as hurricane season, which occurs from June first to November thirtieth. What can you purchase while in Puerto Rico? While in Puerto Rico, you may like to purchase some of Puerto Rico's various fresh fruits such as pineapples, plantains, and bananas as well as traditional apparel and jewelry. To purchase these items, you can use the U.S. dollar, as it is the national currency in Puerto Rico. Flag? Puerto Ricos current flag was inspired by the U.S. flag, with horizontal bands alternating from red to white, with a blue isosceles triangle with a large white star within it on the side of the flag. The sides of the triangle represent the parts of their government, the blue color represents the sky and coastal waters, red stands for bloodshed, and the white stands for liberty, peace, and victory. Food!!! Puerto Rican has many unique dishes, such as Albondigon, which is similar to meatloaf, Carne Guisada, which is similar to a beef stew, and Limber, which is a frozen fruit juice dessert. Music/culture In Puerto Rico, popular music includes Bolero, Merengue, pop, and rock music. Some modern artist include Enrique Martín Morales and Yolandita Monge. Sports Puerto Rican athletes are given the opportunity to play for the United States olympic trams. Puerto Rican athletes also participate in many leagues in baseball, American football, Basketball, bobsledding, boxing, fencing, golf, horse racing, martial arts, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, and track and field events.
