Introduction
Excessive Time Spent on Computers
Although using the Internet through a computer is a great tool, people may be too trustful of it. "People may also be storing sensitive information that could be accessed by a third party without their knowledge. Another growing concern is that false information could be displayed to trick teens to get their personal information." Therefore, people should over-think the things they do on computers and to not rely on them constantly as there could be great risks, whether online identity theft or hacking.
Children who have grown up using a computer so much that they have an addiction to it may have a higher chance of being illiterate and having behavioral changes. "The worst result is an epidemic of poor communication skills. Teens would rather message each other as opposed to having face-to-face conversations. Myspace and Facebook can lead to antisocial behavior." One of the essential parts of building sociability is having good communication skills and being able to read. However, it is prevented by the usage of a lot of time on a computer, which clarifies being “too dependent” on them.
Conclusion
Computers are used for their usefulness and reliability, which can cause people to have an obsession and become dependent across the world. This is seen through teens on the Internet doing unnecessary business, people becoming too trusting of the Internet, and the issue with bad communication skills. So, people should limit their time on a computer, especially when doing not as essential, significant, or productive business. Provided with many resources around us, people should focus on what they can do and/or use without using a computer.

Are We Too Dependent on Computers?
By Marielle Arcana
Computers are used for their amazing capabilities, but despite their importance, people may not have realized how much they use them in their lives, even to the point of addiction. People around the world have become too dependent on computers as seen through the amount of time teens spend on a computer, the development of poor communication skills, and the issue of safety.
"Research from the American Heart Association shows teens spend an average of 20 hours a week in front of a computer or TV." Because of a computer's many capabilities that people rely on, people spend as much as 20 hours a week on a computer or TV. Thus, this shows how people have become too dependent on computers because spending too much time on a computer can consider you to be too dependent of it. And so, people have been becoming too dependent on computers shown by their excessive time spent on the computer.
