Surya Sankar 60's and 70's Graphic Design After the post war era of Graphic Design, LP Record Sleeves Punk Rock bands in the 70's were a major influence in the 70's graphic design due to the formation of a new graphic design style. Bands like the Sex Pistols, The Clash, and Ramones existed to give feedback against the political and social disasters of the 70's. The result included youth rebellion, a fashion era for punk, the do-it-yourself attitude, and various ideologies. Punk rockers often hired designers like Jame Reid and Barney Bubbles to design posters and record sleeves. The era even consisted of collaged publications based on items designers were able to find and put together. Jamie Reid was an artist/political activist known for his newspaper-cutting graphics of anti war movement and visual anarchy. In his years as an artist/designer, he has done works for: Vivienne Westwood, Robbie Williams, the Gallagher brothers, The Sex Pistols, Boy George, Green Day, Jonathon Ross, Chris Evans, Madonna, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Angelina Jolie.
