Awards
Beyonce has been nominated and won many awards for her music and creativity. She has won several BET Awards for "best video of the year" and "best female artist". She has also won multiple Grammys for "best performance" and "album of the year". Also at the 2010 Grammy Awards, Beyoncé walked away with six honors,the most wins in a single night by a female artist. She has won 20 Grammy Awards and is the most nominated woman in the award's history.
Solo career
Beyoncé became a solo artist, releasing her first album, Dangerously in Love, in 2003. Her second studio album, 2006's B'Day featured such hits as "Irreplaceable" and "Beautiful Liar".Throughout a career spanning 18 years, she has sold over 75 million records as a solo artist and a further 60 million with Destiny's Child, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Family
Beyonce is currently married to R&B Hip/Hop recording artist Jay-Z. Her daughter, Blue, is three years old. Beyonce's parents are Tina and Mathew Knowles. She has two siblings. Her sister, Solange, is 28 and her brother, Nixon, is five.
Philanthropy
After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland founded the Survivor Foundation to provide transitional housing for victims in the Houston area, in which Beyoncé contributed an initial $250,000. Beyoncé became an ambassador for the 2012 World Humanitarian Day campaign donating her song "I Was Here".

Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award winning recording artist. She was born on September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas. Beyonce started her career in the music group Destiny's Child, and eventually became a solo artist. She married hip-hop recording artist Jay-Z in 2008. She is also an actress.
Acting
Beyonce has stared in many movies such as
"Austin Powers in Gold member", "Epic", and "Obsessed". She has also had her music in many TV shows and films. Some include "Glee", "Fifty Shades of Grey", and "The Great Gatsby".
Influences
Beyoncé names Michael Jackson as her major musical influence. At age five, Beyoncé attended her first concert where Jackson performed. When she was presented with a tribute award at the World Music Awards in 2006, Beyoncé said, "if it wasn't for Michael Jackson, I would never ever have performed." She admires Diana Ross as an "all-around entertainer" and Whitney Houston, who she said "inspired me to get up there and do what she did."
Destiny's Child

Destiny's Child was an American R&B girl group that was formed in 1990 in Houston, Texas, Destiny's Child members began their musical endeavors as Girl's Tyme. After years of limited success, they were signed in 1996 to Columbia Records as Destiny's Child. Destiny's Child was launched into mainstream recognition following the 1999 release of their best-selling second album, The Writing's on the Wall, which contained the number-one singles "Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Say My Name"
