In 1983, the National Research Council of Canada invited six Canadian with the opportunity to be involved in the Canadian Space Program and Roberta Bondar was one of the candidates.
In 1990, Bondar had the one chance to go to space with the International Microgravity Labatory Mission. This whole program took eight days. First female Canadian astronaut in space. Achievements In conclusion, Roberta Bondar was successful throughout her careers. She recieved many honours and awards The Order of Canada, the Order of Ontario, the NASA Space Medal, twenty-two honorary degrees, and induction into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame.
