Bureaucracy In The Political Institutions
Created a centralized form of government whose power was concerned with the
Governor-General
.
Governor-General
Is a vice-regal representative of a monarch in an independent realm or a major colonial state. Depending on the political arrangement of the territory.

A Governor General can be a governor of high rank, or a principal governor ranking above "ordinary" governors.

Ex. Africa, America, Europe & etc.
Alcaldes ordinarios (magistrates) held seats on cabildos (town councils) along with regidores (councillors).
Alcaldes mayores were a type of provincial governor.
Can be summarized by 3G's - God, Gold&Glory. (1st Objective)
To propagate Christianity.
To convert the natives to Catholicism.
SPANISH COLONIAL RULE
MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT
were further divided into towns called
Pueblo.
Pueblo was governed by
gobernadorcillo or capitan.

Capitan -
was the supreme authority.
no saalary.
it was done through secret balloting.
the position was merely honorary.
The Governor-General of the Philippines was appointed as its highest judge.
