Sammy Keyes And The Hollywood Mummy
Transcript of Sammy Keyes And The Hollywood Mummy
Sammy goes to her mom's house in Hollywood. In the morning, they find Lebrandi, her mothers friend, in bed,
. They try to figure out who did it and why.
#1. Sammy's mother and Lebrandi were both trying out for the part of Jewel in a soap opera. Sammy's mom wanted the part very badly.
Was Lebrandi poisoned, or suffocated, or what? And, who would try to murder someone?
by Wendelin Van Draanen
Presented by Kaedy Bornstein
Sammy, a middle school detective
Marissa, Sammy's best friend
Ms. Keyes, Sammy's mother
Max, the owner of the house
Lebrandi, her mothers friend
The story takes place mostly at Max's house
and Trouvet's, a fancy resturant.
They are trying to find out who murdered Lebrandi and why.
#2. Max's wife, Claire, had died on Valentines Day, 25 years ago. Sammy's mom's fake identity, Domonique Winsor, had been born on that date. Max may have tried to kill her mother thinking he would then be with Claire again. Had Max killed the wrong person by accident?
WHY IS IT CALLED THE HOLLYWOOD MUMMY?
There is a character in the story named Inga. She basically had plastic surgery gone wrong. So now her whole body is wrapped up like a mummy.
Here is a picture of Inga.
