Transcript of Animal Abuse
Our issue is animal abuse
Our mission is to help take a stand against animal abuse.
Our vision is that animals should always be treated with kindness and without violence.
How it started...
Fighting dogs for sport, for example, has been traced back as far as the 12th Century, after the war that ensued when the Romans invaded Britain.
The HSUS estimates that nearly 1
million animals a year are abused or killed in connection with domestic violence
64.5% (1,212) animal abuse cases involve dogs
18% (337) of animal abuse cases involve cats
25% (470) of animal abuse cases involve other animals
13% of intentional animal abuse cases involve domestic abuse
70% of animal abuses had records for other crimes
Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in U.S. labs each year.
Why we chose Animal Abuse
By: Caius, Nidia, Trinity, Katelyn
We chose this problem because animals didn't do anything to be abused and they didn't have equality. It was sad to see the commercials where the animals were beat up and you could tell they didn't know what they did and they were guilty for doing something they didn't even do.
We plan to put posters around various places like our neighborhood, CCHS, libraries, etc. We chose to do this because it would spread awareness of the issue.

-Over 115 million animals are killed in laboratory experiments for chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics each year.
-More than 50% the fur in the US comes from China, where millions of dogs and cats are often bled to death and skinned alive for their fur. Chinese fur is often mislabeled, so if you wear any fur, there’s no sure way of knowing whose skin you’re in.
-Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year.
-When used in cosmetic tests, mice, rats, rabbits, and guinea pigs are often subjected to skin and eye irritation tests where chemicals are rubbed on shaved skin or dripped into the eyes without any pain relief.
What is animal abuse?
Companies That Test on Animals
Animal cruelty can be either deliberate abuse or simply the failure to take care of an animal. Either way, and whether the animal is a pet, a farm animal or wildlife, the victim can suffer terribly.
