The Plant Cell Interior The Cell is Like a The plasma membrane allows the
materials in and out of the cell like a door in a restaurant, because it allows customers to walk in and out of the restaurant. The nucleus makes the
decision of what proteins
are to be produced, and holds
the DNA, like the boss or lead chef
in a restaurant who holds the main information about the restaurant and what they cook. The cytoplasm is a jelly-like substance that
fills the interior of the cell and holding the
cell organelles in place, the cytoplasm is like the floor space in a restaurant or like the smells that fill the restaurants interior. The ER is found in a cell's cytoplasm
and helps produce, process, and
transport proteins and lipids, the waiters are
like the ER because the waiters produce (receive) the orders and transports the dishes to the customers. Ribosomes makes most of the proteins
by producing chains of amino acids, ribosomes are like the chefs because the ribosomes create the proteins for the cells while chefs produce food for the customers. The Golgi Apparatus Function
helps make and packages/delivers
materials that are to be transported out
of the cell, the Golgi is like the customer's orders
because the Golgi packages the orders like a
customer's orders. The customers orders help the chefs decide what dish they should make. Lysosomes eat foreign invaders
and destroys old or worn out
cell organelles, Lysosmes are like
the garbage disposal since the lysosomes
get rid of wastes. Garbage disposal also gets rid of excess food and waste just like lysomes. The cytoskeleton helps define the shape of an animal cell and is used for movement, the cytoskeleton is like the internal structure in a building because the the internal structure holds or supports the building like the cytoskeleton. The mitochondria produces ATP which
is the main source of energy for a cell, the
ovens in a restaurant are like the mitochondria
because the ovens produce heat to cook the food. Chloroplast helps convert water, sunlight,
and carbon dioxide to oxygen and sugar
in a process called photosynthesis, the ovens
are also like the chloroplast since the ovens produce
the heat to cook the food, and in this case the food
is the energy. The vacuole in both plant and animal cells
help store nutrients, digestive enzymes and water
(in a plant cell), the vacuole is like the fridge in the
restaurant because the vacuole stores all the nutrients, and water, like a fridge. Because the fridge stores all the food and other ingredients. The cell wall is found only in plant cells and is a rigid structure that gives
support to the cell, the cell wall is like the outer supporting wall and roof, since the outer supporting walls support the building just like the cell wall does to a cell.. Restaurant Restaurant Interior Door A door is like a cell membrane because it lets customers walk in and out while the cell membrane transports materials in and out of the cell. Boss's Office The Boss (lead chef) because the boss decides what each person's
jobs should be and also holds all the money/information about the restaurant. What the nucleus does, is it makes the decisions of what proteins are to be produced and also holds the DNA. The boss (lead chef) is like the nucleus Tables Dining Area Waiting Area Tables Steam (smells) that fills the entire restaurant Waiters Kitchen Chefs Order Placement Table Customer's Orders Back of the Restaurant Garbage Disposal Internal Structure Ovens Fridge Outer Wall and Roof outer wall The chefs are like ribosomes because they make and produce the dishes that the customers eat and gain energy from. Ribosomes makes most of the proteins by producing chains of amino acids just like how chefs produce food that the customers eat. The steam (smells) that fill the entire restaurant are like the cytoplasm because it fills the inner area of the restaurant. The cytoplasm (which is a gelatin substance in the cell) is like the steam because it fills the interior of a cell holding all the cell organelles in place. Waiters are just like the Endoplasmic Reticulum because they produce (take) the customer's orders and help transport dishes/food to the customer's table. The Endoplasmic Reticulum (which is found in the cell's cytoplasm) helps produce, process, and transports proteins and lipids (fats) Golgi Apparatus Lysosomes Vacuole Endoplasmic Reticulum Ribosomes Cell Wall Nucleus Plasma Membrane Chloroplast Mitochondria Cytoskeleton Cytoplasm Made By: Janet Wong & Jorrin Song Food Ovens are like the mitochondria because they produce heat which helps cook all the food. Mitochondria are just like ovens but instead of producing heat they produce ATP or more commonly known as energy for the body to use. Garbage disposals in a restaurant are just like lysosomes because they get rid of all the leftover waste like orange peels or a bite of hamburger. What lysosomes do, is they eat foreign invaders and destroys old or wore out cell organelles just like how garbage disposals get rid of all the waste. Food is an essential thing we need to fuel our bodies so that we can function for the rest of the day. Food is like chloroplast because it converts the carbohydrates and fat into energy for our body to use. Chloroplast helps convert water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide to oxygen and sugar in a process called photosynthesis. A fridge is like a vacuole because it helps store fresh produce like fruits and vegetables and also stores liquids like milk and water. Vacuoles are found in both plant and animal cells and help store nutrients, digestive enzymes, and water (in a plant cell) just like how a fridge helps store fresh produce like fruits and vegetables. The internal structure is like the cytoskeleton because it helps supports the restaurant, keep it in place, and prevents the restaurant from collapsing. The cytoskeleton,helps define the shape of an animal cell, keep the cell from collapsing and is used for movement. The outer wall and roof is like the cell wall because it helps support the restaurant and protects the restaurant from the changing weather outside. The cell wall is a rigid structure only found in plant cells that help give support to the cell The customer's orders are like the Golgi Apparatus Function because they help make and tell the chefs what dishes to produce and cook. The Golgi Apparatus Function helps make and packages/delivers materials that are to be transported out of the cell just like the customer's orders do. Thanks For Watching :)
