OUR LEARNING GOALS
1. To learn about the steps in achieving action research.

2. To understand why it is important to undertake active research.

3. To practice action research and discover new ways to present our research.
DEFINE
What is the task?

What exactly must be researched?

Define key terms and unfamiliar terms.

Brainstorm what you already know about the topic.
LOCATE
Where do I find the information?

Look beyond Google - what are some online databases and alternative search engines available to you?

What is available to me at the STMC library? Or my local public library?


ORGANISE
What is the best way for me to organise my information?

Your research book! Keep it neat, tidy and well structured so you can locate your work easily.

Follow the steps outlined in your assignment task sheet.

To:
find the answers to bigger questions,
explore new or unfamiliar ideas,
share information
demonstrate what we have learnt.
LOCATE
Where do I find the information?

When searching online - know what you are looking for. Be specific!

Use key terms and definitions to locate information when searching.


SELECTING
Have I selected the most relevant parts of the information?

Be discriminating! Does the information you have found
really
help answer your key questions?

When you are satisfied that you have located useful and relevant information, be sure to record the reference details for each site, database, book etc you access.
PRESENT
What is an exciting way for me to present my information?

You are to present a multimodal response. This requires a few different
modes
of presentation.

An oral presentation that is complemented by some audio and visual materials.


PRESENT
What is an exciting way to present my information?


Some suggestions:
- Use a Prezi (like this one...!)
- Embed video clips of documentaries that support your information.
- Include a text2mindmap to demonstrated your key ideas.
- Have a music playing in the background to set a 'mood'
- role play key historical characters
- get creative!!



What did I learn from this task?

If you have undertaken quality research, you should have learned plenty of new and wonderful information about your topic!
