Effects and solutions
 Other health problems can occur in healthy adults after long exposure to pollution. Some scientists believe that increases in carbon dioxide contribute to “global warming.” Lake Maracaibo is the largest lake in South America. Due to the large amount of oil removed from the nearby areas, the land in the area is changing. The eastern shore of the lake is dropping about three inches a year. The government has built a dike to keep the water in the lake from flooding the nearby homes, towns, and farms. There are 5 major imput solutions that are already in use.People try to stop population growth, people try to improve energy efficency, people try to use less energy, reduce waste, and also clean up areas that have had air pollution.Reducing waste would help stop air pollution because most of the time after we use non reusable items we usually burn them.Tring to stop population growth would kind of help stop air pollution because more people means more cars, more waste, etc.
Oil Pollution has killed fish and has harmed the fishing industry. Venezuela’s tourism sector is also affected by multiple resorts closing down due to the pollution. There is significant oil pollution along the Caribbean coast. Venezuela is one of the largest producers of oil and natural gas in the world. The country is the fifth-largest producer of oil in the world. It has been producing oil for about a hundred years. It is now one of the top four sources of oil for the United States. In fact, about 15 percent of the oil sold in the United States comes from Venezuela. Oil makes up over 50% of all the money the government makes. This makes it an important resource for the country.

There are lots of causes of air pollution in Mexico City. One of them is that there are over 20 million people that live in Mexico city. Another reason is that there are 3.5 million vehicles that are in Mexico city. All of these cars make lots of pollution. There are 35,000 industries that usually make smoke and that pollutes the air even more. Aother reason that there is so much pollution in mexico city is because Mexico City consumes more than 40 liters of oil a day.The air pollution doesn't spread out brecause Mexico City is on a plateau surrounded by mountians.
. The city is built in a bowl shaped crater of an old volcano. The exhaust from cars, factories, stray dogs get trapped.

Effects and solutions

Lung cancer can grow. It can also create smalll and severe asthma. The effects are irritation of the eyes, nose and throat. . Excessive ultraviolet exposure to animals can give them skin cancer and can cause the ozone layer and atmosphere to erode. Trospheric ozone may damage the lung tissues of animals.Ozone can produce brown specks close to the veins on the leaf. Sulfur dioxide produces larger bleached areas on leaves. Ammonia-Not natural green tissue drying out.People try to stop population growth, people try to improve energy efficency, people try to use less energy, reduce waste, and also clean up areas that have had air pollution.Reducing waste would help stop air pollution because most of the time after we use non reusable items we usually burn them.Tring to stop population growth would kind of help stop air pollution because more people means more cars, more waste, etc.
"There's so much pollution in the air now that if it weren't for our lungs there'd be no place to put it all."

Can be seen at Lake Maracaibo in north-western Venezuela. Commonly occurs when hydrocarbons are extracted in large quantities, as they have been for decades in mature fields of the Maracaibo basin.

How does this apply to our surroundings?
We don't have much air pollution or oil pollution concerns in where we live, Athens. However, Atlanta, just a hour away from our house, may have some issues with air pollution and oil pollution. Since the population is so high in Atlanta, they test car emissions to see how much gasoline they use. Athens does not have much air pollution since we don't have a big population and not as many polluting objects.
