Scenario sequence Physical Emotional Circumstantial Fernanda and Samantha have been best friends since they were in middle school. Now that they attend to college, their lives have been differently than they were back then. Fernanda’s life is pretty much “perfect” she has a boyfriend, nice family; she’s a model and succeeding in school. In the other hand, Samantha’s life is more different than Fernanda’s, Samantha is overweight, not doing well in school, problems with her family and currently does not have a boyfriend. Samantha had also wanted to become a model, but she needed to lose some weight. Due to that she wants to lose weight immediately; she wants to keep eating the things she likes. Samantha was eating excessively amounts of food and after 30 min she would throw up. She was feeling guilty and ashamed of herself after she ate. She was feeling guilty and ashamed of herself after she ate. Nobody knew what Samantha was doing, but she felt she was doing the right thing. One day Samantha and Fernanda went to a party and Fernanda was impressed of how Samantha looked in the dress she was wearing. At that party, the rest of the others were amazed of how rapidly she had loosened weight. Later on she fainted, which everyone became in shock and immediately was sent to the hospital. Lately she wasn’t fighting with her parents and that was a good thing for her, until they found out that she had been bulimic for the past 2 months.` Recently Samantha had been looking very skinny and she had an emaciated face, according to her she still looked fat in front of the mirror. Reality was that she started looking hideous. Not until the incident had happened Samantha was able to get assistance in time before it was too late. Solutions: Samantha needs to talk to her parents, assistance to go with a nutrioligist to find a healthier way to lose weight and that way she is not risking her life. Samantha needs a lot of support and therapy. What is an eating disorder? Eating disorders are conditions defined by abnormal eating habits that may involve either insufficient or excessive food intake to the detriment of an individual's physical and mental health. Bulimia and anorexia are the most common specific forms in the United Kingdom. Bulimia is a disorder characterized by binge eating and purging, and anorexia is characterized by immoderate food restriction and irrational fear of gaining weight. Fernanda is always talking about doing exercising, eating healthier and to drink a lot of water Samantha is very lazy to start that method. That’s why she is having these eating disorders. Her parents tried to help in various ways like going to the gym and with the nutrioligist. Although Samantha sacrificed herself in losing weight she had Fernanda’s support and her parents. Samantha had envy towards Fernanda’s life, but she realized that becoming bulimic was very unhealthy. After recovery, she started all over again with her weight problems. She attended to nutriology classes as she started exercising with Fernanda All along she knew the consequences of her risking her life but she wanted something fast. Now she has learned that even though it’s a slow process but it’s worth at the end.
