The sun is one out of a billion stars The Sun By:Trevor Young The sun formed four and a half billion years ago. It will keep shining at least for another 5 billion years. The suns surface is called the photosphere. The sun's photosphere is about 10,000 degrees fahrenheit It's core is under its atmosphere The sun's core is 27 million degrees fahrenheit. The suns diameter is 870,000 miles across. Biblieography: www.library.thinkquest.com/sun The sun is 109 times wider than the earth,and is 333,000 times hevier. That means,if you put the sun on a scale you will need 333,000 objects that weigh as much as the earth to make is balance. In ancient times,people belived the sun was a ball of fire created by the gods Later people thought is was a liquid ball,or a solid object. looking permanently at the sun can damage your eyes because it is so bright. About one million earths can fit inside the sun.
