Or for those with poor vision, this piece of technology increases the size of the font/print to make the words more clear and easy to read. Not all technology was created to help people with disabilities, as you can see with the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 is an innovation to technology that makes using your phone more comfortable and easy. In just 2006 there was an estimate of 4.4 millions people in Canada with a disability. Imagine how much that number increased within 6 years. The creators of these devices made millions of lives easier. "Being the richest man in the century doesn't matter to me..going to bed saying we've done something wonderful..that's what matters to me." -Steve Jobs What Is Assistive Technology..? Assistive Technology are devices that can help and/or improve peoples lives. A form of assistive tecnology can be a motor powered wheel chair, which helps people who can't walk and/or are unable to push their own wheel chair. This is a very good innovation to technology because it allows disabled people to mobile and more independent. Without this innovation people that are unable to walk and/or push a wheels chair would be very restricted. iPhone 5 Apple made the iPhone 5 easier to use by making the phone lighter, thiner and faster. as well they mad the screen larger making it easier for people to see while still maintaining great picture quality. The iPhone 5 also has apps for special needs kids like tap-to-talk. Tap-to-talk is needed for when kids have struggle with speech. When you tap on a picture of something it speaks it out. e.g When you tap on a bathroom it says that I need to go to the bathroom. So that helps many kids and it's free.
