Garamond The font may have been created by Jean Jannon in the mid sixteenth century. Credit for creating the Garamond font is given to a wealthy French man of the late fifteenth century named Claude Garamond. BUT...... Things that were happening around this time... "Discovery" of America French Revolution England possesses most of France north of Loire River & English King Henry V is named heir to throne Garamond font was based on the roman font of Griffo.
