Sydney is one of the most multicultural cities in the world.
HISTORY
Christianity (Catholic and Anglican) is the majority religion, but there are also Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and other religions.
Sydney leads the top 10 of the cities with the best quality of life in the world
Sydney was inhabited by indigenous Australians during 30,000 years.
It´s the site of the first British colony in Australia.
Sydney was established in 1788 by Captain Arthur Phillip as a penal colony called Port Jackson.
In 1789, a smallpox outbreak killed most of the natives.
The battles between the settlers and the indigenous also killed many Sydneysiders.
The Gold Rush of 1851 brought many immigrants to Sydney
Sydney has gradually become a cosmopolitan city

Sydney has a wet subtropical climate with warm summers and mild winters, with little rainfall.

The currency of Sydney is the Australian dollar
Sydney is the most expensive city in Australia and the 15th globally
