The Trip
Feb 17-25 (OU's spring break)
- Laborie, St Lucia
- small village in the south of the island
Where will we go?
Where will we stay?
- Guest houses and apartments throughout the village
- safe, clean and comfortable
- walking distance from our learning center
What will we study?
- the music and culture of the Caribbean
- through lectures, excursions and hands-on music making
- learn how to play the Steel Pan
- history and cultural importance of the instrument
Who will be teaching?
- master musician, legendary Steel Pan artist Andy Narell
What else will we do?
- guided day excursions
- exploring the cultural heritage and natural beauty of the island
- included in the program fee:
- instruction in St. Lucia
- accommodations
- excursion fees
- 2 meals per day
- all transportation in St Lucia

MUS 5900: Global Arts Study Abroad, St. Lucia
- class throughout the semester
- Monday evening 7:10-9pm
- weekly assignments/reading
- culminating research project

7:00-8:00am - Breakfast
8:30-11:30am - Morning Session (class or excursion)

6:00-8:00pm - Evening Activity
