Head Start Emily Head Start is a wonderful program
that supports families who don't get
high amounts of income. They send
their children there to learn, become
more independent and more social. Odali
Head start educates
children from birth up to
age five. This is for
children from low
income families. Advantages of
Head Start Child
Care. Interesting Facts: Having a child in Head
Start will help a family become more educated with the intellectuality of their young child. Head start is one
of the most succesful
pre school and family support
programs in the country. A child is a gift that shouldn't be wasted.


One who has a lot to offer the world.


A child has a very imaginative mind that
should be expressed, Head Start helps
them to express themselves. It operates year-round but,
most children attend
half a day, Head Start has a logo, building blocks, which stand for building a childs education. Children truly
have a good time
when learning things
they enjoy. More rececently, it has added
some programs for infants and
toddlers. Head Start was founded as
part of Lyndon B. Johnson’s
War on Poverty in 1965.
Since then, Head Start has
grown from an eight-week
demonstration project to include
full day/year services and numerous
program options. Head Start has
served over 30 million children and
their families in urban and rural areas
in all 50 states, the District of
Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S.
territories. Parents involvement
is the heart of head start. Disadvantages
of
Head Start Many times the child spends all day in head start and not enough time with their parents. Goal of Head Start!! Designed to meet the needs of the child! Build self-esteem that will lead to future success! Encourage confidence, curiousity, and self-dicipline. Head Start programs provide a learning environment that supports children's growth in:

language and literacy
cognition and general knowledge
physical development and health
social and emotional development and
approaches to learning. The nutrition program reflects the child's ethnic and cultural preferances. Dental, medical,and mental health services are provided.
