Having a Penn State id+ card is one of the first steps needed
to establish yourself at the University.
Did you get a Penn State id+ card yet?
A: “DISSA” stands for the “Directorate of International Student & Scholar Advising” and is a part of the University Office of Global Programs.
F-1 and J-1 students must print and sign their name, as well as date, at the bottom of page 1 of each I-20 or DS-2019 they receive.
Do you have dependents? YOU (the student) should also sign your dependents' I-20s or DS-2019s.

Mandatory Document Check-In must be completed through the Pre-Arrival Checklist or directly at
global.psu.edu/istart --> Admission
If you do not complete document check in within the first 30 days of the semester, your SEVIS record may be terminated!
A: The “Big Ten” is the oldest Division I college athletic conference in the United States. The “Big 10” is so BIG now that it is actually made up of 12 universities, including Penn State, and stretching as far as Nebraska!

“Registered” status means that you have done the following:
Your I-20 or DS-2109 will NOT become active until you are in “registered” status!

Login to your PSU Webmail and go to “My Utilities” --> “System Settings” --> “Mail Settings.”
Staff at Penn State will always
use your Penn State email to contact you. Faculty could also use your Angel email (you can link this with your Penn State Email!).
