EFFECTS ON CONSTRUCTION
It's a composite made of cement base materials with polyvinyl alcohol fibers and
SUPERHYDROPHOBIC
admixture
Hydrophobic emulsions is fabricated and appiled on portland cement
Emulsions- Polymet Hylhydrogen siloxane oil(hydrophobic agent), Metakaolin or silica fumes
Emulsions characterization- Optical and scanning electron microscope
Paper Sludge Ash (PSA)
By miling (dry) PSA, in presence of FATTY ACID surface functionalising agent
Duration- 8 hours with 4 w.t.%addition of stearic acid
ULTIMATE goal- reduce polarity
Properties- Ability to repel water, avoid contaminated particles involve in it.
Eg. Efflorescence (salt)
Withstand rebar rusting ,effects strength of concrete
