Transcript of The Rough Crossing

(September 24, 1896 – December 21, 1940) was an American author of novels and short stories, whose works are the paradigmatic writings of the Jazz Age, a term he coined. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest American writers of the 20Th century. Fitzgerald is considered a member of the "Lost Generation" of the 1920s. He finished four novels: This Side of Paradise, The Beautiful and Damned, The Great Gatsby (his most famous), and Tender Is the Night. A fifth, unfinished novel, The Love of the Last Tycoon, was published posthumously. Fitzgerald also wrote many short stories that treat themes of youth and promise along with age and despair.
Summary :
The story talks about a young writer Adrian Smith , are crossing the Atlantic towards France, he and his wife Eva have been married for seven years and they decide to spend their life’s together because they felt romantic , so after their first day they were drawn to the social life aboard the ship.
After two days at sea, the ship was heading towards a storm, they was bored from life at sea so, they joined the passengers in smoking room, where they met young admirers, Adrian was invited to join a tennis tournament on board, where he noticed a young woman which she was a fan of him, and so his wife Eva found that had a connection with one of the young men in the group,

Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald:
The writer describes the ghostly country, and at night when the place gets more creepy, and describing the haze yellow vault which it’s full of shouting, and he continues describing the place in a very mysterious way. Then he gives us Significance about the past and the (continent) that they are behind, and the word continent give us a sign that they are on a ship, and he Said that the future is like a glowing mouth in the side of the ship .

with his blonde wife Eva, and they went to the promenade deck, and they went to quiet aerie, and then he made sarcasm comment's about the trip and that they did a crime , and he made his wife felt that they really committed crime's
The writer describes Eva and tells us that Eva was (something precious for every one who knew her) .
and then they made a comparison about two ships they have been in and they started to describe the ship they are in, and describes the cultural layer there , and then talking about a 4 of girls whom was keeping an eye on Adrian , and talking about an admirer who she was eighteen , a dark little beauty.
