Transcript of Oprah Winfrey can make differences.

2. YES! Oprah is willing to act! In 1991, due to her commitment to children, Oprah initiated the National Child Protection Act when she testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee to establish a national database of convicted child abusers.
SUCCESSFULLY....In 1993, President
Clinton signed the national "Oprah Bill"
into law. In a 1997 episode of "Oprah Winfrey Show," Oprah invited viewers to join her in helping improve the lives of others by encouraging them to collect spare change; this evolved into the charity known as Oprah's Angel Network. FORTUNATELY... it has raised more than $50 million, with 100% of audience donations going to non-profit organizations across the globe. 3. YES! Oprah makes good decisions! Oprah has developed schools to educate thousands of underserved children internationally and created "The Oprah Winfrey Scholars Program," which gives scholarships to commited students that want to give back to their communities in the US and abroad.
ABSOLUTELY REMARKABLE!! In 2007 she opened a $40 million school for disadvantaged girls in South Africa called the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. WOW!! Oprah met with Lerato Nomvuyo Mzamane to settle a case out about the statements she made on her show. One judge came to a conclusion that the statements that were made were "capable of defamatory meaning."
VERY THOUGHTFUL! 6. YES! Oprah knows how to motivate others! Oprah invites guests like Dr. OZ ans Dr. Laura Berman to educate her audience about health issues and encourage positive living. WHAT IS IT?? Oprah is ending her "The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2 years," but WHY???
Oprah is now moving into a new partnership with Discovery Communications, she will be replacing the existing Discovery Health channel with a channel of her own, known as OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network)
LOVE THE ACRONYMS!
This show will be helping people live a better life. 1. YES! Oprah has a sense of Vision! OPRAH WINFREY HAS IT ALL!! Everyone has heard about "the Oprah Winfrey Show." Oprah devotes her time in this show so she can motivate others by showing them personal or general examples by inviting guests. WHO WOULD'VE EVER THOUGHT OF DOING THIS??
Oprah actually gives employees new cars and trips around the world; it takes creativity and MONEY to motivate employees like hers. Oprah has had a dreadful childhood; she was abandoned by her mother and later adopted by cruel, irresponsible people who sexually and physically abused her. She was forced to steal and take drugs. At the age of 13, unfortunately, she was raped and got pregnant and gave birth to a still born child. This story inspires people to take more actions in life, despite the choices and circumstances they face in the past. From her past childhood experiences, Oprah stands up for her race; African Americans. She endorses the African children and provides them with necessities.
Everyone is aware of her wealth, the billionare she is, Oprah spends her money in an attempt to improve others' lives, such as the $40 million she spent on the school she opened for disadvantaged girls. Oprah formed her own production company, Harpo, in 1986 to produce films, videos and television movies of social importance. On September 17, 1996, Oprah announced the start of Oprah's Book Club, in which she invites the author and selected viewers to join her for an intimate follow-up discussion. Oprah has struggled with weight mis-management and emotional eating habits throughout her life. She chose to work out her solution in the public eye and never gave up on herself, instead she did what she was suppose to and now is considered the weight loss guru of America. 4. YES! Oprah can handle conflict! Oprah handled her childhood very well, despite the fact that she was raped and assaulted, she never gave up and fought her way out of cruelty. "I believe that every single event in life happens in an opportunity to choose love over fear." - Oprah Winfrey Oprah had been aware with vivid details about cannibalistic animal-feeding practices and their link to the outbreak of mad cow disease. The cattlemen were threatening legal action so Oprah invited the cattlemen to make a second appearance, she agreed not to have an opposing viewpoint. She is rewarding $100,00 to every person who turns in a declared sex offender. She gave a donation of $10 million to help build the lives of
Hurricane Katrina victims. She was a great support in bringing many families together. AGAIN WOW! 5. Yes! Oprah works to avoid pitfalls! Despite Oprah's race and gender, she continues to
strive to reach her ambitions in life, her important one being:
to influence and touch people's lives.
Oprah has encouraged a movement
to helping women through their problems by creating the Oxygen Network, a website devoted to women. In her show, "The Oprah Winfrey Show,"
Oprah discusses many senarios with guests, understands their situation, listens to their story and trys to help them or give them suggestions. "What material success does is provide you with the ability to concentrate on other things that really matter. And that is being able to make a difference, not only in your own life, but in other people's lives." -Oprah Winfrey
SO THAT PROVES IT!!
Oprah Winfrey MAKES AN EXEPTIONAL LEADER!
