Marco Polo's Impact Today.
While imprisoned ...
Marco Polo was an Italian explorer. Polo's well-documented travels to China were some of the most influential in world history, and did much to kick start the European age of exploration. He influenced our society today because without his documented travels the age of exploration might not have happened causing the America's to be undiscovered for how ever long.
In September 1298 Marco Polo was captured and imprisoned in Genoa. While imprisoned Marco Polo tells tales of his journeys to his cellmate. That cellmate was a romantic novelist ,Rustichello . As Marco told his tales Rustichello recorded Marco's experiences. Marco Polo's stories allowed Europe to know of a great resource of trade. This resulted in the discovery of New England(America)

Marco polo
Marco Polo was born September 15, 1254 in Venice, to a wealthy father known as Niccolo Polo. Marco Polo was an Italian merchant traveler from Venice whose travels are recorded in Livres des merveilles du monde, a book that introduced Europeans to Central Asia and China.
Marco Polo's death
Marco Polo died at the age of sixty-nine years old. The cause of his death was he was caught in the San Lorenzo church fire.

Marco Polo's Travels
Marco Polo first traveled in 1271 with his father, Niccolo Polo and his uncle Maffeo Polo. Marco Polo traveled along the Silk Road and was the first person to fully explore China and live to tell the tale. Marco Polo's journey to and from China took 24 years to complete.
