Lost Boy
By: Ruth B
Project made by: Jennifer Avelar

Why did you choose this poem?
This song appealed to me because ever since I was little I always had a crush on Jeremy Sumpter and I always imagined him coming to my house to bring to Neverland. I wanted to share this song with others because I wanted to bring out the childhood in the class. Imagine if you were a lost boy in the beginning having no hope and then all of sudden a man comes and brings you to place you have always dreamed of (A PLACE WITH NO RULES!).
What is the theme/central message of the poem?
The central message that Ruth B wanted to share is that everyone feels lonely and needs a friend. Specific lines from the song that explain main idea are:
"I am a Lost Boy from Neverland
Usually hanging out with Peter Pan
And when we're bored we play in the Woods
Always on the run from Captain Hook"
What type of poetry is it?
The song Lost boy by Ruth B is a narrative. It fits into this genre of poetry because it tells a story of a lost boy from the book/movie Peter Pan.
Personification
My only friend was the man in the moon. And even sometimes he would go away too
Many people have said that the moon seems as though there was a face on it. The moon cant actually have a face.
Imagery
He sprinkled me in pixie dust and told me to believe, Believe in him and believe in me, Together we will fly away in a cloud of green
As we soared above the town that never loved me, I realized I finally had a family, Soon enough we reached Neverland, Peacefully my feet hit the sand and ever since that day...
These two bullets gives the listener a image to put in there heads of the lost buy getting sprinkled with pixie dust and flying over the town and then arriving to Neverland
Repetition
I am a Lost Boy from Neverland
Usually hanging out with Peter Pan
And when we're bored we play in the Woods
Always on the run from Captain Hook

Run run Lost Boy, they say to me
Away from all of reality
Neverland is home to Lost Boys like me
And Lost Boys like me are free
This is a repetition of the chorus that occurs three times throughout the song.
