Transcript of OIL AND NATURAL GAS

OIL AND NATURAL GAS
Oil and Gas are very similar to coal however oil and natural gas are made up of different organisms. Scientists think that decomposed plankton formed oil and natural gas. They think that when plankton dies and reaches the ocean floor, after thousands of years it can transform into oil or natural gas if the pressure is strong enough. Oil and Natural Gas is found under the soil . They ARE FOSSIL FUELS. Oil is VERY HARD to find.

Benefits
Draw backs
OUR OPINION
While transporting the oil on a boat if there is an oil spill the oil will go into the ocean and harm the animals.
We think that oil and natural gas are bad resources and we should use something better instead of them.
Fossil fuels are not the best source of energy because they are not renewable and they pollute the enviroment.
the best alternative is to try to combine the following 5 alternative sources of energy so we can continue to have energy forever.
WHAT IS OIL AND NATURAL GAS?
If there is no more oil and natural gas we will not be able to create more because they are both non renewable resources.
When people use natural gas or oil for cars and their factories it pollutes the air and the layer of the atmosphere becomes thinner and lets the sun come in harder.
Natural gas is the cleanest fossil fuel so it causes less pollution to the air.
Modern world requirs the use of oil and natural gas for our every day lives for example transportation, machines in factories, stoves and heaters.
To distribute it to homes for heating it can be done through pipes. This makes the distribution very easy.
Natural gas is combustible. It can explode easily.
Oil drilling endangers the environment ecosystem.
Oil has high heating value.
Natural gas can be safely and efficiently stored.
photovoltaic: the conversion of sunlight into electricity using solar panels and converters
Wind energy: using very large wind mill farms
Hydroelectricity: converting the power of rivers into electricity using dams and turbines
Geothermal energy: conversion of every strong steam which shoot out from the ground and areas where there is tectonic activity (where the crust of the earth moves and lets the steam out from the center of the earth) into electricity.
biomass energy: burning trqash or other biodegradable material to produce electricty.

All of the energys above are better than oil and natural gas because they are renewable and they do not pollut the environment.
