Transcript of Storm Worm
This particular virus is called a Trojan Horse and it appeared in 2007. This virus was caused by emails contain faulty links or videos that caused your computer to download it. Although this was a huge widespread virus it can be stopped by simply keeping your anti-virus software up to date.
The Storm Worm, got its name from the person behind the attack sending emails with the subject "230 dead as Storm batters Europe". This virus could cause your computer to be a zombie or bot to the person behind the attack (this process is also refers to as Botnet). But as I said before the virus is extremely easy to safeguard from as well as remove it once you have it if you just keep your anti-virus software up to date.
The effect of this virus was a tremendous impact on the world especially on the doorstep of the Beijing olympics. An estimated 2 million emails were sent out containing this virus titled big world events like the Olympics. When these computers became zombies the creator good link them altogether and cause a massive cyber attack. This program also spammed emails like crazy all over the internet.
In conclusion this was a huge virus that effected thousands of computers across the world and being label one of the worst viruses ever created.
