Bartering (Trading)
A thousand years ago they used to trade stuff for other things like two pigs for a cow or something like that. The value is really important beacause if you traded 1 fish for 2000000 cows that would be unfair but if you traded gold for 90,000,000,000 cows it would be equivalent. But there were some problems like it hade lacked value and it was heavy and it didn't last long.
Currency (money or objects)
Well, each culture had its own currency like lets say in your religions cows are sacred and you would pay 2 cows for a farm or something. The currency needed to have characteristics like it needed to be valuable and light because if it is heavy you couldn't carry it around and it needed to be rare, unusual and hard to find because if it is something you find every day it doesn't make sense to trade it.I am going to give you examples of what this objects could of been: shells, feathers, salt, and colorful stones.
Coins
First thing you need to know is that the coins long time ago were odd shaped and never came out the same size because they were made of precious metals. What did this metals look like well they sure were rare and they were easily shaped but why did they come rarely shaped? They came odd shaped because they were done by hammer and were just stamped with the picture. Two thousand, six hundred years ago they minted silver and gold coins, They were very valuable, and they were not even and also they were never the same weight or size. This coins came from the Middle East. Later on they were all pure gold and silver. The symbols, so yeah early europeans used this coins to buy stuff and rulers and important people also did. There were many chinese coins like the first ones had a big hole in the middle so that they could be easily carried. They could be carried on a ribbon or a stick. They were also made out of coopper. And they were stamped there worth(value).
Paper Money
Chinese paper money. Well, how id they get the paper? T'sai Lun invented paper 1,900 years ago, but they used it 700 years later. But why 700 years after it was invented? Because they still had cooper left, whan they ran out of copper thay used paper. They did the money by hand. And they used wooden blocks by using ink. Though the coins were still used. Later in Europe they used machines and Johanns Gutenburg gave the idea on 1400.
Invisible Money
Do you know what checks are ? Well you came to the right place! Cheks are little papers that you wright the value of the money and then the banks take it away from your bank account like debit cards. Credit cards are different because you barrow money from the company your are using your card for. Then you have to pay an intres but the longer you take to pay the bigger the interest gets.
MONEY
The needs of mankind have enveloped over time
The end!
Did you know?

That Roman soldiers
were paied with salt and
