So always, when he heard the aircraft sound, he reached to Gabriel and transmitted memories of snow, keeping some for himself. Together they became cold.."

6th Period Exposition The Giver is set in a Utopian society where there is no color, choice ,pain, and memories that grant wisdom. In this society you are either assigned or selected for a job. When you are assigned you live normal as everybody else but if you are selected you are very important in the society and you will live a life different from everybody else. The protagonist, Jonas, who just turned twelve during the December Ceremonies is selected to be the next Receiver of Memories, the most honored and important person in the community .You may wonder who the Receiver of Memories is, well, he is basically the keeper of memories that bring to you knowledge and wisdom. But before Jonas becomes The Receiver he will have to undergo several training with the current Receiver which will involve pain and pleasure. Jonas decides he is apprehensive about the Ceremony of Twelves. Jonas is skipped at the ceremony of twelves, then called out at the end of the ceremony and told he is selected to be the next Receiver of Memories. Jonas' father is to choose between the two identical twins who is staying in the society and who is going to be released. Jonas decides he wants to watch the Releasing Ceremony of the identical twins, and then realizes release means killing and also, that his father has been lying to him. Jonas freaks out that his father killed one of the twin and decides not to go home. Together Jonas and The Giver come up with an escape plan and also save food from their meals so Jonas could take with him on his journey elsewhere during the December Ceremony. Jonas flees from the society and overcomes the many obstacles on his way to elsewhere. Jonas and Gabriel makes it to the elsewhere where you are free from sameness and can keep your memories . Rising Action Climax Falling Action Resolution Jonas goes to his first training and meets The Giver, who then tries to explain his job as much as he could before he transmits the first memory the memory of snow, sled and sunburn. And so he continues transmitting memories everyday Jonas comes for training. The Giver's sub genre is Science Fiction. "I'm sorry that I wasted so much time with questions," Jonas said. "I was only asking about release because my father is releasing a new child today. A twin. He has to select one and release the other one."
Chapter 19, Pg 146 "What are you going to do, sir?" he asked, hoping that his voice didn't betray his nervousness.
"I am going to transmit the memory of snow,' the old man said, and placed his hands on Jonas' bare back."
Chapter 10, Pg 79 "There was a time, actually-you'll see this in the memories later -when flesh was many different colors. That was before we went to Sameness. Today flesh is all the same, and what you saw was the red tones. Probably when you saw the faces take on color it wasn't as deep or vibrant as the apple, or your friend's hair."
Chapter 12, Pg. 94 "Asher." She lifted her voice to make the official announcement. "We have given you the Assignment of Assistant Director of Recreation."

Chapter 8, Pg.62 Bird
Yacht in the clear, blue river.
Room with lights, presents on the floor and snowy outside.
Merry go round There was a time, I used to look into my father’s eyes
In a happy home, I was a king I had a gold throne
Those days are gone, now the memories are on the wall
I still hear the sounds from the places that I was born

Up on the hill across the blue lake
That’s where I had my first heart break
I still remember how it all changed
My father said
Don’t you worry, don’t you worry child
See heaven’s got a plan for you
Don’t you worry, don’t you worry now

Oooooh oooooh

There was a time, I met a girl of a different kind
We ruled the world
I thought I’ll never lose her out of sight
We were so young, I think of her now and then
I still hear the songs reminding me of a friend

Up on the hill across the blue lake
That’s where I had my first heart break
I remember how it all changed
My father said
Don’t you worry, don’t you worry child
See heaven’s got a plan for you
Don’t you worry, don’t you worry now

Oooooh oooh

Baby don’t you worry, don’t you worry
