Recycling What is Recycling? Collecting garbage and reusing it to create new things; recycle paper to not harm more trees. History of Recycling ... Pollution is a horrible thing. It's killing the earth. Bad for our health. R e c y c l i n g <3 Reuse Reduce Recycle To bring down to a smaller extent, size, amount, number, etc. There's Pros. And there's Cons To reuse is just a repeated use of old products such as plastic water bottles, computers, pallets, cellphone, etc. as raw materials to manufacture new goods. Recycle! Paper recycling is more expensive than other types of recycling because of all the chemicals used to make paper bright white. Debris from the activity of collecting and sorting the recycling can contain hazardous chemicals and be dangerous to recycling workers. To obtain (a raw material) by separating it from a by-product or waste product. Over 100 million people are being affected by pollution, and out of those people many are at risk for getting malaria or HIV. The environment can go from this... To this... More than 1 billion people do not have access to clean water, and out of that billion, 5,000 people die from drinking unclean water. About 44% of lakes in America are polluted, therefore it is difficult to go fishing, swimming or enjoy the aquatic life. Recycling saves energy and reduces pollution. Recycling conserves natural resources Recycling Recycling has been going on for thousands of years. It has been in history since 400 B.C. or even earlier. Recycling took a big part in WWII. There is evidence that many years ago glass from the ancient city of Sagalassos (now Turkey) was being recycled. Recycling has helped the world conserve natural resources such as timber, water, and minerals. Recycling has let to reducing the percentage of pollution and preserves the environmental conditions. Some plastics are impossible to recycle, and since nothing is done with these plastics they release chemicals into the air. When plants and trees are affected so is the wildlife, pollution changes plant communities; atmospheric ozone may slow down the growth in plants which affects the quality of food sources and quality of habitat for animals You can reduce this negative effect of recycling by carefully sorting your recyclables and making sure not to include dangerous items. -Dictionary -Research Methods Class Images By:
