Pronouns
Definition:
Pronouns are words that replace nouns.

What happens if Mrs. Murphy is not here one day?

A substitute teacher comes in and teaches you that day.

Think of pronouns as the substitute that take the place of the regular noun.

Good writers use pronouns in their writing so that they don't have to repeat the noun over and over.
