Technology (unless provided or told to use personal equipment)
No open-toed shoes
All long hair must be pulled back
All dangling jewelry must be removed
DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING UNTIL TOLD TO DO SO.
READ ALL LAB MATERIALS BEFORE YOU START THE LAB.
*There are others, but they are more lab specific and will be introduced during labs.
What you should do
During labs, you should do the following:
Read all lab materials
Make sure all safety protocols have been addressed
Keep a written record of activities
Follow lab write-up and verbal directions from the teacher.
Report all safety violations to the teacher.
Be aware of exits and safety equipment locations
The following will prohibit you from conducting the lab and, depending on severity, will keep you from doing labs all together:
Unsafe acts (i.e., running, using unsafe lab practices)
Attempting to eat or drink any lab contents unless told to do so.
Know your Heat
In the lab, there is plastic and glass ware. Know that only GLASS can be heated on a hot plate. When handling hot anything during a lab, make sure to use hot hands.
ALL CHEMICALS ARE DANGEROUS. TREAT THEM ALL AS THOUGH THEY ARE!! DO NOT SMELL OR TOUCH CHEMICALS WITHOUT PERMISSION.

All instruction on how to dispose of all materials from a lab will come from the teacher. Chemicals will never be deposed of in the trash can. When in doubt, ask the teacher.
If glass has been broken, please let the teacher know. There is a special box and disposal method for broken glass. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO PICK IT UP YOURSELF!!!!
